Over the weekend, I saw a bumper sticker on a car that said: "Stop bitching. Start a revolution."
Beyond my curiosity about why we display our beliefs, experiences or opinions on our cars (I heard once that the U.S. is the only country where people advertise their educations on their cars), what that practice may or may not mean about our relationships with our cars or the state of dialog in our country, or whether in general you should take advice from a bumper sticker, I have to admit I had a brief moment of: "Yeah!"
We all have places in our lives where we are stuck in finding what’s wrong, annoying, imperfect about a situation. "Bitching" may feel good but it doesn’t necessarily get us anywhere.
Does change require a "revolution"? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe it depends on what a revolution is to you. What struck me was how easy it is to stay in that downward spiral focusing on what’s not working instead of taking the courageous step to make a change. And one change can start the revolution…
What are you going to stop bitching about?
What’s the revolution you need to start?
