The other day, this thought suddenly popped into my head: everyone,
everywhere, is creating new ideas, solutions, projects from nothing.
We’re all making it up. Out of thin air.
I feel a bit silly writing it, as the essence of creativity is to make something new, but it seemed like a revelation
to me when it occured to me: anything new is created from where nothing existed before (…or built on the foundations of earlier creative work done by ourselves or others).
We literally risk nothing, and yet actually risk everything, by creating
something new in the world. And, yet tapping into our creativity can be as easy as a game – catch a new idea, play with it some, and let it go out into the world.
How about you? What are you creating this week?

Before specializing as a professional coach in 2004, I spent more than a decade in leadership, management and program development for state and local government and non-profit organizations. Now I get to help leaders and teams have more clarity and ability to stand up for what's important in their work and in their organizations. Working with me, leaders and teams find more meaning and purpose, feel happier and more confident, navigate change and conflict, and work together better.
