My posts have been a little sparse this month as I had been spending much of the time gearing up for a big week of out-of-town travel full of meetings, trainings and faciliations – which all took place last week. Whew!
I used to travel a lot for my work, and loved it. Now I find it more of a chore to drag myself from my usual surroundings, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the opportunity for renewal in the midst of what was an incredibly busy and packed week…
… enjoying the luxury, quiet and solitude of a hotel room for one…
… being responsible for my schedule only…
… a warm summer breeze on an outdoor patio during dinner with colleagues…
It was a reminder to me to take the breaks when they come. Sometimes the pace of life feels and perhaps is relentless, but peace – or at least a break in the action – is always available to us if we just take the time to notice it.

How does taking a break help you make a difference?
What happens when you allow yourself to take a break?

Before specializing as a professional coach in 2004, I spent more than a decade in leadership, management and program development for state and local government and non-profit organizations. Now I get to help leaders and teams have more clarity and ability to stand up for what's important in their work and in their organizations. Working with me, leaders and teams find more meaning and purpose, feel happier and more confident, navigate change and conflict, and work together better.
